We are based in the breathtaking Pacific Northwest where nature’s beauty is a constant inspiration. Our co-founder and primary broom maker was always encouraged to make her own toys and trinkets as a young child, so creativity has become second nature to her. This, along with having had the privilege of learning traditional broom making directly from Master Craftsman Marlow Gates, renowned second-generation Appalachian broom maker currently based in North Carolina, has allowed her to hone her broom making skills to a high level.

At Brooms, Readings and More we are driven to create not only distinctive and striking brooms but other unique heirloom quality pieces that include but are not limited to handcrafted crocheted bags, wands, walking sticks/staffs, boxes and artwork. Each item is one of a kind, just like our customers. These pieces are a true labor of love, created with discerning craftsmanship, so you, your loved ones, and generations to come may cherish them.

Our business is committed to minimizing our impact on the environment. We use limited amount of chemical such as resin, stains and clear coat finishes on our wooden items, but take care to dispose of any leftover chemicals at our local hardware store drop-off. We take steps to be mindful of our environment when creating our products. We up cycle, use organic and natural materials, forage for natural elements and source raw materials from local business owners for use in our products, thus infusing nature’s energy into our items while reducing our footprint on the planet.
